Well, we arrived in Phoenix around 11:30 this morning. It took us about 4 and a half hours to arrive at the oh-so-luxurious Motel6. Very few places allow dogs so my options are only so many. It's weird not having Rachel (my girlfriend) along. It's nice knowing that she's thinking about me while at least in the same zip code while I ride. Plus my dog has someone to give her attention and play while I'm gone.
I don't think I could travel for a living. At least not regularly. We got checked in for the event and picked up our packets, t-shirt, goodies, bib numbers, etc. The race starts at 6:30 tomorrow and lineup starts at 5:00 am. Thankfully the start/finish area is only about 12 miles away. I'm sure it's going to be a bit chilly in the morning but I will be making an effort to get lined up as early as possible.
