Class started today. I've enjoyed my month off and am ready to get back to school. It's hard to imagine I still have 2 more years. I know when I first started down this road, 2 years until I had my AAS in hand looked like a long time too. It actually went rather quickly since I'm in and out of new classes every 11 weeks (10 week of class, 1 week of break in between).
So now I start a new chapter in my education...my Bachelor's degree. This term I'll be taking a course called Technology Infrastructure which appears to outline a business approach towards data communications and computer networks. The second course I'm taking is a Microsoft Visual Basic course which I'll be taking the second (advanced) part of next term.
I have decided I'll be taking a few consecutive weeks off every year I'm still in school so that I can recoup and relax. I've said it before, I don't get summers off, spring break or even much of a winter break. Having had the last month off, I could have used that while attending the past 2 years straight. It's practically necessary when you work full time! I started to burn out the beginning of 2008 because I didn't take any time for myself.
That being said, I'm starting to piece together a vacation plan for April 2009. I will be going to Utah to spend 3 days in Zion National Park and 3 days in Bryce Canyon National Park. There's some beautiful country out there from everything I've heard and seen and I'd like to experience it first hand especially when it's a modest 395 miles away from my home. Likewise, I need to start planning my ascent up Mt. Whitney as well since that's also a goal for 2009.

Scott, glad you enjoyed your month off and are planning to give yourself a break more often. You work hard and deserve it. Keep up the great work you do in cycling and school. We are proud of you! The next 2 years will go by just as fast as the last 2.
