We have arrived

Mike and I left home around 7 in the morning Thursday. We got to Phoenix 5 hours later. We stopped in Phoenix so I could see my cousin Tiffany. We don't see each other very often but talk and text message in the interim. Tiffany is probably the family member I'm closest to and the main reason being is because she's around my age and I don't have to put on a different face when I'm around her. I can just be me. She's excited to be graduating school in a month. Fun stuff, I wonder what it feels like to NOT have your face buried in books after work. I'll have to ask in a month. =) We arrived in Tucson about 4:30 pm, picked up our packets, bib numbers and swag.

It's windy as heck today. I want to say the wind is blowing around 20 mph. I hope the wind is absent tomorrow otherwise 80 miles is going to be a PITA. Alex never showed today. He is registered to participate but backed out last night when his brother flaked on him. I'll just summarize my feeling about this as irritated and leave it at that. It's no surprise to any blog readers that Alex has been flaking for one reason or another for months now. I know sometimes things are unavoidable but it gets old trying to include people and things keep coming up.
