Ride and Run

Don and I went out to Bonelli this morning to go do some laps on the bike and then run. We did two laps. We had a third lap planned but time didn't allow since Ing was meeting us at 9:30. Our first lap was more or less a warmup...25 minutes. The second lap I finished in 20 minutes flat and Don no more than 30 seconds behind. He wasn't going at it the same intensity I was though. The second lap felt great. Laps around Bonelli has to be some of the hardest essentially TT riding around because of the short steep hills. 20 minutes is a pretty good pace for the inside loop. Don thinks I could hit 18 minutes especially since the 20 minute lap didn't put me in the red zone for my heart rate at all. 0% zone 5 time...that's very nice! I don't know if I can hit 18 minutes but I'm sure I can get in under 20. If I did manage an 18 minute lap it would only be for 1 lap and then I'd blow up.

Ing met us at 9:30 and we went for a 3 mile run. The run felt pretty good and I feel better that my duathlon next month will go smoothly as long as I can stay focused on pacing. It's a short race though so if pacing goes out the window I won't be hurting for long...just will have to suck it up. I'm looking forward to the multisport thing.

glad to hear you're looking forward to your Du! I have been sick for like 3 weeks (total drag!!!) but hit the treadmill yesterday. I've hated missing the workouts, but when your lungs aren't functioning...not much of an option. Anyway, I can't wait to hear about your racing this season!
