Sunday's Piru TT

Nothing much to really report. I came in 3rd in Cat 5. The wind was blowing pretty bad out there on the way back from the turn around. I was getting blasted from the side on the way out which meant keeping the back wheel (disc) under the bike was a task. On the return trip it was all headwind all the way back.

My avg. speed on the way out was 27.6 mph and my average for the trip back was 18.9 mph. That's a speed loss of about 1/3. Of note though was that I dropped chain on the return trip and that whole ordeal of trying to get it to catch, it not catching, dismounting the bike to fix it, and getting back up to speed took about 1 minute. I was actually off the bike for only 10 seconds. Next time I'll just get off the bike immediately and fix it.

yay - I finally added your blog to my followers list. Now I don't have to hunt it down. (Yes, I could've bookmarked it and never remembered to do that..duh)
Sounds like a good TT. It's amazing to me how much you track the time - I would have never remembered to note the time off fixing the chain. 3rd is good - doesn't that get you points to cat up?

ok, I was thinking you got point for the various place and could use them to cat up...like in other bike racing.
I'm gonna try doing more TT's this year, actually. I *really* need to get my race schedule all planned out.
I got out for a 2hr ride today. It was really nice here. we're supposed to get 70's tomorrow and saturday. Wahoo!
