Catching up on the blog...

Last weekend (Saturday Sept. 19) Alex and I rode down to San Diego for our 80 mile ride. We talked about switching our SD ride to Saturday since it would be more convenient for Sunday football and gives Sunday as a recoup day instead of heading right into Monday. We finished in 4:23 which was about 16 minutes faster than the previous trip. We both agreed we're feeling better riding 80 miles and it's getting easier. I even had a chase from miles 76-78 to pull in two guys in tri bikes. A silly little "let's see if I can do it because they are really far away". Yes, I pulled Alex and I right up to their wheels. It was a hard long pull considering we were aerodynamically lacking comparatively speaking. It also was cool to see I still had something in my legs after 70+ distance.

This week it's been ridiculously hot out. We've had a summer that's been roughly 10 degrees below normal. This week we've been 100+ so I haven't gone out to ride or run.

I went out to watch Pandorum yesterday after work at the theater. It's a newly release scifi horror flick. I enjoyed it. I jumped a couple times but it was an enjoyable movie. Critics are hard on it because some of the acting and characters seem a bit shallow but I was able to overlook it with the twists it had in it.

Don came out to ride with me today and do 3 laps around Bonelli Park. So we did that and then he went home while I went for a 3 mile run. The first half of the run felt pretty good but once I hit the first hill I felt my legs fatigue and fade. Most likely it was from the ride.
