Last ride before the Bonelli Tri

Today's ride was a short (40 mile) Santa Ana River Trail trip. We held a quick pace down and back. There were 4 of us riding together; Don, Alex, Ryan and myself. We rotated turns out front every 2-3 minutes. My power meter is in for repair since Brynne got a hold of it earlier this week when I left her in my room for an hour...testing her out of her crate. Well, that was an expensive mistake to have the head unit of your power meter chewed. It did however testify to the durability of Polar's stuff. It still worked just fine. In fact, all it needs is a new case front and back. Because the case is serialized, I had to send it in unfortunately. Since the SART has every 1/2 mile marked and I know from previous rides that 2-3 minutes equates to a mile traveled all I had to do was watch the markings.

Anyway, without the power meter, I had nothing to judge my ride by. All I know is the total finish time was 1 hour 50 minutes. That's the fastest 40 mile time I've ever achieved. It was a brutal pace coming back after working so hard all the way down, but mentally I'm thrilled.

Next stop, a 15 mile sprint around Bonelli Park next Sunday, April 27. Which also coincides with my 30th birthday.
