Race day!

I remembered I had a race today. I forgot I needed to move the clocks back last night. DOH! That meant I was up at 4 instead of 5. Well to be honest, Brynne had me up minutes before my alarm went off anyway. She tried throwing up on the bed and I gave a her a boot on her back end to the floor since there's no way I was going to be able to get her to the bathroom or outside in time. Sounds mean but what else do you do when you've just been woken up and realize "Oh crap she's getting sick!" So I was up a lot earlier than I had intended.

I took her for a walk and started getting ready to leave for the race when I had just put on a cup of coffee and checked my cell phone when it hit me it was only 4:30...not 5:30. DARNIT! So I putzed around on the computer for an hour and poured my coffee, put the bike on the car and left. I don't think it could have rained much more on my way out there (an hour drive). Once there I started wondering if anyone would show. Sure enough a few people showed up as did the organizers and we got down to business.

My race went well considering I don't get on the TT bike much anymore until Tucson is over with. I was the second one out on the course and the first to finish. My official time was 31:43. If anything it was consistant with my time back in September. That was the last time I did this TT. My time then was 31:40 I believe.

Tren (the organizer) went around thanking those that showed up before they started putting up cones. That was pretty nice. Of course the whole crew seems to be a nice bunch of people to begin with.
