Commuted to work again today on my bike. I live about 9 miles from work and with gas prices out here at $3.94 per gallon I'll use the infinite MPG thank you very much! Funny thing is it's mostly taxes for the roads yet the roads never seem to get any better.
Anyway, I got home and went for a run. Yesterday I thought "Yeah, I'll do 3 miles...". ...sure thing buddy! I changed my mind midway through the work day and decided to just run the 1.5 mile loop for the next week or two and THEN up the distance a little. 2 miles should be good in a few weeks. So today I ran with more purpose. It wasn't an all out run, but I increased the effort to see what kind of time I could arrive back home with and not fall on my face halfway through. Although, some might proclaim that might be beneficial. =P ...just kidding... I completed the run in 12:50.81 which assuming I've done my math correctly, comes out to 8:53-ish/mile. I don't think that's too shabby.

nice work on your race results...and good job on the running! Ya know, you might have more interest/energy for the run if you don't plan to run every day. I'm sure you know this, but running takes much more recovery than cycling does. You're also smart not to increase too much too soon, so good job there!
